In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful

86:1

والسماء والطارق ١

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ ١

ﭑ
ﭒ
ﭓ

By the heaven and the nightly star!

وما ادراك ما الطارق ٢

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ ٢

ﭔ

ﭖ

ﭗ

ﭘ

And what will make you realize what the nightly star is?

النجم الثاقب ٣

ٱلنَّجْمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ ٣

ﭙ

ﭚ

ﭛ

˹It is˺ the star of piercing brightness.

ان كل نفس لما عليها حافظ ٤

إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍۢ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌۭ ٤

ﭜ

ﭝ

ﭞ

ﭟ

ﭠ

ﭡ

ﭢ

There is no soul without a vigilant angel ˹recording everything˺.

فلينظر الانسان مم خلق ٥

فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ ٥

ﭣ

ﭤ

ﭥ

ﭦ

ﭧ

Let people then consider what they were created from!

خلق من ماء دافق ٦

خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٍۢ دَافِقٍۢ ٦

ﭨ

ﭩ

ﭪ

ﭫ

ﭬ

˹They were˺ created from a spurting fluid,

يخرج من بين الصلب والترايب ٧

يَخْرُجُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ ٱلصُّلْبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ ٧

ﭭ

ﭮ

ﭯ

ﭰ

ﭱ

ﭲ

stemming from between the backbone and the ribcage.¹

انه على رجعه لقادر ٨

إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَجْعِهِۦ لَقَادِرٌۭ ٨

ﭳ

ﭴ

ﭵ

ﭶ

ﭷ

Surely He is fully capable of bringing them back ˹to life˺

يوم تبلى السراير ٩

يَوْمَ تُبْلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ ٩

ﭸ

ﭹ

ﭺ

ﭻ

on the Day all secrets will be disclosed.

فما له من قوة ولا ناصر ١٠

فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن قُوَّةٍۢ وَلَا نَاصِرٍۢ ١٠

ﭽ

ﭾ

ﮂ

Then one will have neither power nor ˹any˺ helper.

والسماء ذات الرجع ١١

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجْعِ ١١

ﮅ

ﮆ

By the sky with its recurring cycles,

والارض ذات الصدع ١٢

وَٱلْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدْعِ ١٢

ﮊ

and the earth with its sprouting plants!

انه لقول فصل ١٣

إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلٌۭ فَصْلٌۭ ١٣

ﮎ

Surely this ˹Quran˺ is a decisive word,

وما هو بالهزل ١٤

وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلْهَزْلِ ١٤

ﮏ

ﮐ

ﮑ

ﮒ

and is not to be taken lightly.

انهم يكيدون كيدا ١٥

إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًۭا ١٥

ﮓ

ﮖ

They are certainly devising ˹evil˺ plans,

واكيد كيدا ١٦

وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًۭا ١٦

ﮗ

ﮙ

but I too am planning.

فمهل الكافرين امهلهم رويدا ١٧

فَمَهِّلِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًۢا ١٧

ﮚ

ﮛ

ﮜ

ﮝ

ﮞ

So bear with the disbelievers ˹O Prophet˺. Let them be for ˹just˺ a little while.
