In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful

74:1

يا ايها المدثر ١

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْمُدَّثِّرُ ١

ﮬ
ﮭ
ﮮ

O you covered up ˹in your clothes˺!

قم فانذر ٢

قُمْ فَأَنذِرْ ٢

ﮯ

ﮱ

Arise and warn ˹all˺.

وربك فكبر ٣

وَرَبَّكَ فَكَبِّرْ ٣

ﯓ

ﯕ

Revere your Lord ˹alone˺.

وثيابك فطهر ٤

وَثِيَابَكَ فَطَهِّرْ ٤

ﯖ

ﯘ

Purify your garments.

والرجز فاهجر ٥

وَٱلرُّجْزَ فَٱهْجُرْ ٥

ﯙ

ﯚ

ﯛ

˹Continue to˺ shun idols.

ولا تمنن تستكثر ٦

وَلَا تَمْنُن تَسْتَكْثِرُ ٦

ﯜ

ﯝ

ﯞ

ﯟ

Do not do a favour expecting more ˹in return˺.¹

ولربك فاصبر ٧

وَلِرَبِّكَ فَٱصْبِرْ ٧

ﯠ

ﯡ

ﯢ

And persevere for ˹the sake of˺ your Lord.

فاذا نقر في الناقور ٨

فَإِذَا نُقِرَ فِى ٱلنَّاقُورِ ٨

ﯣ

ﯥ

ﯦ

ﯧ

˹For˺ when the Trumpet will be sounded,¹

فذالك يوميذ يوم عسير ٩

فَذَٰلِكَ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ يَوْمٌ عَسِيرٌ ٩

ﯨ

ﯩ

ﯪ

ﯫ

ﯬ

that will ˹truly˺ be a difficult Day—

على الكافرين غير يسير ١٠

عَلَى ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ غَيْرُ يَسِيرٍۢ ١٠

ﯭ

ﯮ

ﯯ

ﯰ

ﯱ

far from easy for the disbelievers.

ذرني ومن خلقت وحيدا ١١

ذَرْنِى وَمَنْ خَلَقْتُ وَحِيدًۭا ١١

ﯲ

ﯳ

ﯴ

ﯵ

ﯶ

And leave to me ˹O Prophet˺ the one I created all by Myself,

وجعلت له مالا ممدودا ١٢

وَجَعَلْتُ لَهُۥ مَالًۭا مَّمْدُودًۭا ١٢

and granted him abundant wealth,

وبنين شهودا ١٣

وَبَنِينَ شُهُودًۭا ١٣

ﯾ

and children always by his side,

ومهدت له تمهيدا ١٤

وَمَهَّدتُّ لَهُۥ تَمْهِيدًۭا ١٤

ﰂ

and made life very easy for him.

ثم يطمع ان ازيد ١٥

ثُمَّ يَطْمَعُ أَنْ أَزِيدَ ١٥

ﰃ

ﰇ

Yet he is hungry for more.

كلا انه كان لاياتنا عنيدا ١٦

كَلَّآ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا عَنِيدًۭا ١٦

ﰎ

But no! ˹For˺ he has been truly stubborn with Our revelations.

سارهقه صعودا ١٧

سَأُرْهِقُهُۥ صَعُودًا ١٧

I will make his fate unbearable,
