Fatir 35:39 هو الذي جعلكم خلايف في الارض فمن كفر فعليه كفره ولا يزيد الكافرين كفرهم عند ربهم الا مقتا ولا يزيد الكافرين كفرهم الا خسارا ٣٩
هُوَ
ٱلَّذِي
جَعَلَكُمۡ
خَلَٰٓئِفَ
فِي
ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ
فَمَن
كَفَرَ
فَعَلَيۡهِ
كُفۡرُهُۥۖ
وَلَا
يَزِيدُ
ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
كُفۡرُهُمۡ
عِندَ
رَبِّهِمۡ
إِلَّا
مَقۡتٗاۖ
وَلَا
يَزِيدُ
ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
كُفۡرُهُمۡ
إِلَّا
خَسَارٗا
٣٩
Egli è Colui Che vi ha fatti eredi della terra 1 . Quanto a chi sarà miscredente, la sua miscredenza è a suo danno. La loro miscredenza non fa che accrescere l’abominio dei miscredenti di fronte al loro Signore; la loro miscredenza non fa che accrescere la loro rovina.

Ibn Kathir (Abridged)
هُوَ الَّذِى جَعَلَكُمْ خَلَـئِفَ فِى الاٌّرْضِ
(He it is Who has made you successors generations after generations in the earth,) meaning, all people succeed one another, generation after generation. This is like the Ayah:
وَيَجْعَلُكُمْ حُلَفَآءَ الاٌّرْضِ
(and makes you inheritors of the earth, gene
