I miscredenti non sono forse compensati per quello che hanno fatto? 1 «la Segreta»: con questo termine che abbiamo reso «as-sijjin» poiché molti tra i più autorevoli commentatori hanno scritto che esso implica il concetto di «sotterraneo» e di carcere. Secondo altri si tratta del nome proprio della lista che, nell’Infemo, registrerà il nome dei dannati, ipotesi avvalorata dal vers. 2 «le Altezze»: uno dei luoghi del Paradiso. 3 «I ravvicinati»: o «al muqarabbìn» una particolare categoria di angeli o anche i beati. 4 «Tasnim»: il nome di una fonte del Paradiso. Significa lett. sorgente di acqua abbondante. 5 Il Corano descrive l’atteggiamento dei pagani nei contronti dei musulmani: scherno, occhiate ironiche, pesanti ironie, dileggio.
