وما انت بهادي العمي عن ضلالتهم ان تسمع الا من يومن باياتنا فهم مسلمون ٨١

وَمَآ أَنتَ بِهَـٰدِى ٱلْعُمْىِ عَن ضَلَـٰلَتِهِمْ ۖ إِن تُسْمِعُ إِلَّا مَن يُؤْمِنُ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا فَهُم مُّسْلِمُونَ ٨١

وَمَآ

أَنتَ

بِهَٰدِي

ٱلۡعُمۡيِ

عَن

ضَلَٰلَتِهِمۡۖ

إِن

تُسۡمِعُ

إِلَّا

مَن

يُؤۡمِنُ

بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا

فَهُم

مُّسۡلِمُونَ

٨١

Noch kan je de blinden uit hun zonden leiden, je kunt alleen degenen doen luisteren die in Onze Tekenen geloven, en degenen die zich onderworpen hebben.

بِهَادِي العُمْيِ

bi-hādi l-ʿumyi

“you cannot guide the (spiritually) blind”

This reading is based on an active participle with a ba' particle emphasising negation. The second word is an annexed genitive.

تَهْدِي العُمْيَ

tahdī l-ʿumya

“you will not guide the (spiritually) blind”

This reading has an imperfect verb with its object.

These readings convey the same meaning with different grammatical structures [Makki].
