Tafsir: An-Nisa 4:176

يستفتونك قل الله يفتيكم في الكلالة ان امرو هلك ليس له ولد وله اخت فلها نصف ما ترك وهو يرثها ان لم يكن لها ولد فان كانتا اثنتين فلهما الثلثان مما ترك وان كانوا اخوة رجالا ونساء فللذكر مثل حظ الانثيين يبين الله لكم ان تضلوا والله بكل شيء عليم ١٧٦

يَسْتَفْتُونَكَ قُلِ ٱللَّهُ يُفْتِيكُمْ فِى ٱلْكَلَـٰلَةِ ۚ إِنِ ٱمْرُؤٌا۟ هَلَكَ لَيْسَ لَهُۥ وَلَدٌۭ وَلَهُۥٓ أُخْتٌۭ فَلَهَا نِصْفُ مَا تَرَكَ ۚ وَهُوَ يَرِثُهَآ إِن لَّمْ يَكُن لَّهَا وَلَدٌۭ ۚ فَإِن كَانَتَا ٱثْنَتَيْنِ فَلَهُمَا ٱلثُّلُثَانِ مِمَّا تَرَكَ ۚ وَإِن كَانُوٓا۟ إِخْوَةًۭ رِّجَالًۭا وَنِسَآءًۭ فَلِلذَّكَرِ مِثْلُ حَظِّ ٱلْأُنثَيَيْنِ ۗ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ أَن تَضِلُّوا۟ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمٌۢ ١٧٦

يَسۡتَفۡتُونَكَ

قُلِ

ٱللَّهُ

يُفۡتِيكُمۡ

فِي

ٱلۡكَلَٰلَةِۚ

إِنِ

ٱمۡرُؤٌاْ

هَلَكَ

لَيۡسَ

لَهُۥ

وَلَدٞ

وَلَهُۥٓ

أُخۡتٞ

فَلَهَا

نِصۡفُ

مَا

تَرَكَۚ

وَهُوَ

يَرِثُهَآ

إِن

لَّمۡ

يَكُن

لَّهَا

وَلَدٞۚ

فَإِن

كَانَتَا

ٱثۡنَتَيۡنِ

فَلَهُمَا

ٱلثُّلُثَانِ

مِمَّا

تَرَكَۚ

وَإِن

كَانُوٓاْ

إِخۡوَةٗ

رِّجَالٗا

وَنِسَآءٗ

فَلِلذَّكَرِ

مِثۡلُ

حَظِّ

ٱلۡأُنثَيَيۡنِۗ

يُبَيِّنُ

ٱللَّهُ

لَكُمۡ

أَن

تَضِلُّواْۗ

وَٱللَّهُ

بِكُلِّ

شَيۡءٍ

عَلِيمُۢ

١٧٦

Consultar-te-ão a respeito da herança de um falecido, em estado de "kalala"; dir-lhes-ás: Deus já vos instruiu a esterespeito: se uma pessoa morrer, sem Ter deixado prole e tiver uma irmã, corresponderá a metade de tudo quanto deixe; e seela morrer, ele herdará dela, uma vez que esta não deixe filhos. Porém, se ele tiver duas irmãs, estas herdarão dois terços doque ele deixar; e se houver irmãos e irmãs, corresponderá ao varão a parte de duas mulheres. Deus vo-lo esclarece, para quenão vos desvieis, porque é Onisciente.

Giving the injunction regarding inheritance the Quran states, ‘God makes things clear to you so that you will not go astray.’ This shows that inheritance is not a simple matter. This is one of those areas in which disobeying the divine injunction will lead you astray from the straight and narrow path of guidance.
