Fatir 35:39 هو الذي جعلكم خلايف في الارض فمن كفر فعليه كفره ولا يزيد الكافرين كفرهم عند ربهم الا مقتا ولا يزيد الكافرين كفرهم الا خسارا ٣٩
هُوَ
ٱلَّذِي
جَعَلَكُمۡ
خَلَٰٓئِفَ
فِي
ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ
فَمَن
كَفَرَ
فَعَلَيۡهِ
كُفۡرُهُۥۖ
وَلَا
يَزِيدُ
ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
كُفۡرُهُمۡ
عِندَ
رَبِّهِمۡ
إِلَّا
مَقۡتٗاۖ
وَلَا
يَزِيدُ
ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
كُفۡرُهُمۡ
إِلَّا
خَسَارٗا
٣٩
O sizi yeryüzünde halifeler yapandır. Artık kim kâfir olursa kâfir olması kendi aleyhinedir. Kâfirlere kâfirlikleri Rablerinin nezdinde aşırı bir gazaptan başka bir şey arttırmaz. Kâfirlere kâfirlikleri zarardan başka birşey arttırmaz.

Ibn Kathir (Abridged)
هُوَ الَّذِى جَعَلَكُمْ خَلَـئِفَ فِى الاٌّرْضِ
(He it is Who has made you successors generations after generations in the earth,) meaning, all people succeed one another, generation after generation. This is like the Ayah:
وَيَجْعَلُكُمْ حُلَفَآءَ الاٌّرْضِ
(and makes you inheritors of the earth, gene
