Those who drag forth
079

In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful

79:1

والنازعات غرقا ١

وَٱلنَّـٰزِعَـٰتِ غَرْقًۭا ١

ﮢ
ﮣ
ﮤ

By those ˹angels˺ stripping out ˹evil souls˺ harshly,

والناشطات نشطا ٢

وَٱلنَّـٰشِطَـٰتِ نَشْطًۭا ٢

ﮥ

ﮦ

ﮧ

and those pulling out ˹good souls˺ gently,

والسابحات سبحا ٣

وَٱلسَّـٰبِحَـٰتِ سَبْحًۭا ٣

ﮨ

ﮩ

ﮪ

and those gliding ˹through heavens˺ swiftly,

فالسابقات سبقا ٤

فَٱلسَّـٰبِقَـٰتِ سَبْقًۭا ٤

ﮫ

ﮬ

ﮭ

and those taking the lead vigorously,

فالمدبرات امرا ٥

فَٱلْمُدَبِّرَٰتِ أَمْرًۭا ٥

ﮮ

ﮯ

ﮰ

and those conducting affairs ˹obediently˺!

يوم ترجف الراجفة ٦

يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ ٦

ﮱ

ﯓ

ﯔ

ﯕ

˹Consider˺ the Day ˹when˺ the quaking Blast will come to pass,¹

تتبعها الرادفة ٧

تَتْبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُ ٧

ﯖ

ﯗ

ﯘ

followed by a second Blast.

قلوب يوميذ واجفة ٨

قُلُوبٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ وَاجِفَةٌ ٨

ﯙ

ﯚ

ﯛ

ﯜ

˹The deniers’˺ hearts on that Day will be trembling ˹in horror˺,

ابصارها خاشعة ٩

أَبْصَـٰرُهَا خَـٰشِعَةٌۭ ٩

ﯝ

ﯞ

ﯟ

with their eyes downcast.

يقولون اانا لمردودون في الحافرة ١٠

يَقُولُونَ أَءِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِى ٱلْحَافِرَةِ ١٠

ﯤ

ﯥ

˹But now˺ they ask ˹mockingly˺, “Will we really be restored to our former state,

ااذا كنا عظاما نخرة ١١

أَءِذَا كُنَّا عِظَـٰمًۭا نَّخِرَةًۭ ١١

ﯩ

even after we have been reduced to decayed bones?”

قالوا تلك اذا كرة خاسرة ١٢

قَالُوا۟ تِلْكَ إِذًۭا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌۭ ١٢

ﯬ

ﯰ

Adding, “Then such a return would be a ˹total˺ loss ˹for us˺!”

فانما هي زجرة واحدة ١٣

فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌۭ وَٰحِدَةٌۭ ١٣

ﯳ

ﯵ

But indeed, it will take only one ˹mighty˺ Blast,

فاذا هم بالساهرة ١٤

فَإِذَا هُم بِٱلسَّاهِرَةِ ١٤

ﯹ

and at once they will be above ground.

هل اتاك حديث موسى ١٥

هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓ ١٥

Has the story of Moses reached you ˹O Prophet˺?
