Al-A'raf 7:4 وكم من قرية اهلكناها فجاءها باسنا بياتا او هم قايلون ٤
وَكَم
مِّن
قَرۡيَةٍ
أَهۡلَكۡنَٰهَا
فَجَآءَهَا
بَأۡسُنَا
بَيَٰتًا
أَوۡ
هُمۡ
قَآئِلُونَ
٤
一体われら*は、どれだけ多くの（不信仰者*の）町を滅ぼしてきたことか。そしてわれら*の猛威[1]は（夜）眠っている時でも、あるいは彼らが昼寝している間でも、彼らのもとに到来したのだ。 1

Nations that were destroyed
Allah said,
وَكَم مِّن قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَـهَا
(And a great number of towns We destroyed.) for defying Our Messengers and rejecting them. This behavior led them to earn disgrace in this life, which led them to disgrace in the Hereafter. Allah said in other Ayat,
