Al-Baqarah 2:75 ۞ افتطمعون ان يومنوا لكم وقد كان فريق منهم يسمعون كلام الله ثم يحرفونه من بعد ما عقلوه وهم يعلمون ٧٥

2:75

۞ أَفَتَطۡمَعُونَ

أَن

يُؤۡمِنُواْ

لَكُمۡ

وَقَدۡ

كَانَ

فَرِيقٞ

مِّنۡهُمۡ

يَسۡمَعُونَ

كَلَٰمَ

ٱللَّهِ

ثُمَّ

يُحَرِّفُونَهُۥ

مِنۢ

بَعۡدِ

مَا

عَقَلُوهُ

وَهُمۡ

يَعۡلَمُونَ

٧٥

Ṣé ẹ̀ ń rankàn pé wọn yóò gbà yín gbọ́, nígbà tí ó jẹ́ pé igun kan nínú wọn kúkú ń gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ Allāhu. Lẹ́yìn náà, wọ́n á yí i padà sódì lẹ́yìn tí wọ́n ti gbọ́ ọ yé; wọ́n sì mọ̀.

Ibn Kathir (Abridged)

There was little Hope that the Jews Who lived during the Time of the Prophet could have believed

Allah said,

أَفَتَطْمَعُونَ

(Do you covet) O believers,

أَن يُؤْمِنُواْ لَكُمْ

(That they will believe in your religion) meaning, that these people would obey you They are the deviant sect of Jews whose fathe

75. Ṣé ẹ̀ ń rankàn pé wọn yóò gbà yín gbọ́, nígbà tí ó jẹ́ pé igun kan nínú wọn kúkú ń gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ Allāhu. Lẹ́yìn náà, wọ́n á yí i padà sódì lẹ́yìn tí wọ́n ti gbọ́ ọ yé; wọ́n sì mọ̀. 76. Nígbà tí wọ́n bá sì pàdé àwọn tó gbàgbọ́ ní òdodo, wọ́n á wí pé: “A gbàgbọ́.” Ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí ó bá sì ku apá kan wọn ku apá kan, wọ́n á wí pé: “Ṣé kì í ṣe pé ẹ̀ ń bá wọn sọ̀rọ̀ nípa ohun tí Allāhu ti ṣípayá rẹ̀ fún yín, kí wọ́n lè fi jà yín níyàn ní ọ̀dọ̀ Olúwa yín? Ṣé ẹ ò ṣe làákàyè ni!” 77. Ṣé wọn kò mọ̀ pé dájúdájú Allāhu mọ ohun tí wọ́n ń fi pamọ́ àti ohun tí wọ́n ń ṣàfi hàn rẹ̀? 78. Àti pé ó wà nínú wọn, àwọn aláìmọ̀ọ́nkọmọ̀ọ́nkà, tí wọn kò nímọ̀ nípa Tírà àfi àwọn irọ́. Wọn kò jẹ́ n̄ǹkan kan bí kò ṣe pé wọ́n ń dá àbá (àròsọ).
