Al-Kahf 18:18 وتحسبهم ايقاظا وهم رقود ونقلبهم ذات اليمين وذات الشمال وكلبهم باسط ذراعيه بالوصيد لو اطلعت عليهم لوليت منهم فرارا ولمليت منهم رعبا ١٨
وَتَحۡسَبُهُمۡ
أَيۡقَاظٗا
وَهُمۡ
رُقُودٞۚ
وَنُقَلِّبُهُمۡ
ذَاتَ
ٱلۡيَمِينِ
وَذَاتَ
ٱلشِّمَالِۖ
وَكَلۡبُهُم
بَٰسِطٞ
ذِرَاعَيۡهِ
بِٱلۡوَصِيدِۚ
لَوِ
ٱطَّلَعۡتَ
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
لَوَلَّيۡتَ
مِنۡهُمۡ
فِرَارٗا
وَلَمُلِئۡتَ
مِنۡهُمۡ
رُعۡبٗا
١٨
И помислио би да су будни, али они су спавали; и Ми смо их превртали сад на десну, сад на леву страну, а пас њихов, опружених предњих шапа, на улазу је лежао; да си их видео, од њих би побегао и страх би те ухватио.

Ibn Kathir (Abridged)
Their Sleep in the Cave
Some of the scholars mentioned that when Allah caused them to sleep, their eyelids did not close, lest disintegration took hold of them. If their eyes remained open to the air, this would be better for the sake of preservation. Allah says:
وَتَحْسَبُهُمْ أَيْقَاظًا وَهُمْ رُقُو
