Al-Ma'idah 5:46 وقفينا على اثارهم بعيسى ابن مريم مصدقا لما بين يديه من التوراة واتيناه الانجيل فيه هدى ونور ومصدقا لما بين يديه من التوراة وهدى وموعظة للمتقين ٤٦
وَقَفَّيۡنَا
عَلَىٰٓ
ءَاثَٰرِهِم
بِعِيسَى
ٱبۡنِ
مَرۡيَمَ
مُصَدِّقٗا
لِّمَا
بَيۡنَ
يَدَيۡهِ
مِنَ
ٱلتَّوۡرَىٰةِۖ
وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُ
ٱلۡإِنجِيلَ
فِيهِ
هُدٗى
وَنُورٞ
وَمُصَدِّقٗا
لِّمَا
بَيۡنَ
يَدَيۡهِ
مِنَ
ٱلتَّوۡرَىٰةِ
وَهُدٗى
وَمَوۡعِظَةٗ
لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ
٤٦
And We sent Jesus, the son of Mary, after those Prophets, confirming the truth of whatever there still remained of the Torah. And We gave him the Gospel, wherein is guidance and light, and which confirms the truth of whatever there still remained of the Torah,1 and a guidance and admonition for the God-fearing.

Allah Mentions `Isa and Praises the Injil
Allah said,
وَقَفَّيْنَا
(and We sent...) meaning, We sent
عَلَى ءَاثَـرِهِمْ
(in their footsteps) meaning the Prophets of the Children of Israel,
بِعَيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ مُصَدِّقاً لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنَ التَوْرَاةِ
(`Isa, son of Maryam, confirming the Tawrah
