ولقد جاءهم رسول منهم فكذبوه فاخذهم العذاب وهم ظالمون ١١٣

وَلَقَدْ جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌۭ مِّنْهُمْ فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ وَهُمْ ظَـٰلِمُونَ ١١٣

A messenger of their own actually did come to them, but they denied him. So the torment overtook them while they persisted in wrongdoing.
