Az-Zukhruf 43:23 وكذالك ما ارسلنا من قبلك في قرية من نذير الا قال مترفوها انا وجدنا اباءنا على امة وانا على اثارهم مقتدون ٢٣
وَكَذَٰلِكَ
مَآ
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
مِن
قَبۡلِكَ
فِي
قَرۡيَةٖ
مِّن
نَّذِيرٍ
إِلَّا
قَالَ
مُتۡرَفُوهَآ
إِنَّا
وَجَدۡنَآ
ءَابَآءَنَا
عَلَىٰٓ
أُمَّةٖ
وَإِنَّا
عَلَىٰٓ
ءَاثَٰرِهِم
مُّقۡتَدُونَ
٢٣
Ntumwa y’Imana! Ni uko rero, si wewe ubaye uwa mbere, ntitwigeze Turungika hambere yawe, Umugabisha n’umwe ku bantu bo mu gacimbiri kanaka, kugira abagabishe ku bihano vyacu, kiretse ko abatewe iteka muri bo ryo kworoherwa mu buzima, baca bavuga bati: “Mu vy’ukuri twebwe, twasanze abavyeyi bacu bubahiriza iri dini; mu vy’ukuri rero, na twe twubahiriza iragi badusigiye”.

The Idolators have no Proof
Allah condemns the idolators for worshipping others instead of Allah with no evidence or proof for doing so.
أَمْ ءَاتَيْنَـهُمْ كِتَـباً مِّن قَبْلِهِ
(Or have We given them any Book before this) means, before their idolatry.
فَهُم بِهِ مُسْتَمْسِكُونَ
(to which they are hold
