Al-Isra 17:54 ربكم اعلم بكم ان يشا يرحمكم او ان يشا يعذبكم وما ارسلناك عليهم وكيلا ٥٤
رَّبُّكُمۡ
أَعۡلَمُ
بِكُمۡۖ
إِن
يَشَأۡ
يَرۡحَمۡكُمۡ
أَوۡ
إِن
يَشَأۡ
يُعَذِّبۡكُمۡۚ
وَمَآ
أَرۡسَلۡنَٰكَ
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
وَكِيلٗا
٥٤
Vuestro Señor es Quien mejor os conoce (¡oh, gentes!). Si lo desea, (os guiaráhacia la fe y) se apiadará de vosotros; obien dejará que muráis en la incredulidad y os castigará. Y no te hemos enviado a ti (¡oh Muhammad!) en calidad de guardián sobre ellos, ni eres responsable de sus acciones.

Ibn Kathir (Abridged)
رَّبُّكُمْ أَعْلَمُ بِكُمْ
(Your Lord knows you best;) O mankind, meaning, He knows best who among you deserves to be guided and who does not deserve to be guided.
إِن يَشَأْ يَرْحَمْكُمْ
(if He wills, He will have mercy on you,) by helping you to obey Him and turn to Him.
أَوْ إِن يَشَأْ يُعَذِّبْكُمْ
