Az-Zukhruf 43:24 ۞ قال اولو جيتكم باهدى مما وجدتم عليه اباءكم قالوا انا بما ارسلتم به كافرون ٢٤
۞ قَٰلَ
أَوَلَوۡ
جِئۡتُكُم
بِأَهۡدَىٰ
مِمَّا
وَجَدتُّمۡ
عَلَيۡهِ
ءَابَآءَكُمۡۖ
قَالُوٓاْ
إِنَّا
بِمَآ
أُرۡسِلۡتُم
بِهِۦ
كَٰفِرُونَ
٢٤
[پیامبرشان] میگفت: «اگر آیینى هدایتبخشتر از آنچه نیاکانتان داشتند آورده باشم [باز هم از آنان پیروی میکنید]؟» آنان [در پاسخ] میگفتند: «[آری،] پیامى را كه مأمور [ابلاغ] آن شدهاید، انكار مىكنیم».

Ibn Kathir (Abridged)
The Idolators have no Proof
Allah condemns the idolators for worshipping others instead of Allah with no evidence or proof for doing so.
أَمْ ءَاتَيْنَـهُمْ كِتَـباً مِّن قَبْلِهِ
(Or have We given them any Book before this) means, before their idolatry.
فَهُم بِهِ مُسْتَمْسِكُونَ
