Day 9: The Confessions of Those Who Denied

Commentary

The inhabitants of Hell admit their wrongdoing fully. They acknowledged that they had received the message but purposefully decided to ignore it. They actively rejected the truth despite it being conveyed by the noble prophets. 

Guidance 

Receiving guidance is not enough; responding to it is essential. In this verse, the people being punished did receive guidance from prophets who came to them, but their denial of the messengers and the message meant that they did not benefit. It is not sufficient to have reverence for Allah’s Book; we must actively live by its message.
