Commentary

When the punishment finally appears, faces will darken with grief and despair. (May Allah protect us from the horrors of the Day of Judgement. Amen.)

This moment exposes the emptiness of their earlier denial. The sudden shift from arrogance to terror highlights how fragile false certainty is. They are confronted with the very truth they ridiculed, and now their realization has come too late, with no chance of return. 

Guidance 

Do not be deceived by delay. Just because accountability is unseen doesn’t mean it is uncertain. The verse teaches us not to mistake Allah’s patience for absence. The more we recall the descriptions and the conditions of the day of Judgement, the more we visualize it, and the more likely we are to prepare for it.
