Lesson & Reflection

The final movement of this learning plan brings the heart from warning to hope. Surah al-Mutaffifin began with a scale that was corrupted. It showed people taking fully and giving less. It reminded us of resurrection, the Day of Standing, the stained heart, and the records of people. Then it opened a window into the reward of the virtuous and called every seeker to strive diligently.

This is the balance of the Quran. It warns us so we do not sleep through injustice, and it gives hope so we do not despair of change. If you have recognized unfairness in yourself during this plan, that recognition is a mercy. The door is open. Allah loves those who turn to Him in repentance, and He loves those who purify themselves. A believer is not someone who never discovers a crooked scale within the soul. A believer is someone who keeps bringing the scale back to Allah.

Fairness and equity are lifelong work. They require a heart that remembers the Akhirah, a tongue that refuses exaggeration, hands that return rights, and humility that can admit, “I was wrong.” They require daily habits: staying connected to the Quran, keeping righteous companionship, renewing intentions often, and seeking beneficial reminders before heedlessness settles in.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) warned that wrongs between people must be settled before the Day when dinars and dirhams will not help. This makes fairness urgent, but not hopeless. You can begin today with one right returned, one apology offered, one debt paid, one harsh judgment softened, one double standard abandoned.

Over these five days, the main takeaway is simple: Allah sees the scale. He sees what we take, what we give, what we hide, what we repair, and what we strive to become. The path is not perfection in a single moment. It is sincere return, again and again, until fairness becomes part of worship.

مَنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ مَظْلِمَةٌ لِأَخِيهِ مِنْ عِرْضِهِ أَوْ شَيْءٍ فَلْيَتَحَلَّلْهُ مِنْهُ الْيَوْمَ قَبْلَ أَنْ لَا يَكُونَ دِينَارٌ وَلَا دِرْهَمٌ

Whoever has wronged his brother in honor or anything else should seek release from it today, before there is no dinar or dirham.

Dua

O Allah, make me fair in private and public, gentle when corrected, quick to return rights, and sincere in repentance. Do not let me meet You carrying injustice against Your servants. Ameen.
