Qaf 50:36 وكم اهلكنا قبلهم من قرن هم اشد منهم بطشا فنقبوا في البلاد هل من محيص ٣٦
وَكَمۡ
أَهۡلَكۡنَا
قَبۡلَهُم
مِّن
قَرۡنٍ
هُمۡ
أَشَدُّ
مِنۡهُم
بَطۡشٗا
فَنَقَّبُواْ
فِي
ٱلۡبِلَٰدِ
هَلۡ
مِن
مَّحِيصٍ
٣٦
われはかれら以前に，如何に多くの世代を滅ぼしたことか。かれらは，これら（マッカの多神教徒）よりも力においてもっと勇猛であったではないか。それでかれらは諸都市を巡り歩いたが，何処に避難所があろうか。

Warning the Disbelievers of the imminent Torment; commanding the Prophet to pray and have Patience
Allah the Exalted asks, `how many We have destroyed before these denying disbelievers'
مِّن قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُم بَطْشاً
(a generation who were stronger in power than they.) they were more numerous
