Qaf 50:36 وكم اهلكنا قبلهم من قرن هم اشد منهم بطشا فنقبوا في البلاد هل من محيص ٣٦
وَكَمۡ
أَهۡلَكۡنَا
قَبۡلَهُم
مِّن
قَرۡنٍ
هُمۡ
أَشَدُّ
مِنۡهُم
بَطۡشٗا
فَنَقَّبُواْ
فِي
ٱلۡبِلَٰدِ
هَلۡ
مِن
مَّحِيصٍ
٣٦
OCH HUR många släkten före dessa [människor som förnekar uppståndelsen] har Vi inte låtit gå under, [människor] mäktigare än de! De sökte i land efter land men fann ingen tillflykt [undan Vår vrede].

Warning the Disbelievers of the imminent Torment; commanding the Prophet to pray and have Patience
Allah the Exalted asks, `how many We have destroyed before these denying disbelievers'
مِّن قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُم بَطْشاً
(a generation who were stronger in power than they.) they were more numerous
